HOUSTON - April 12, 2019 - PRLog -- "GO FOR LANDING" a thrilling new Apollo 11 documentary from filmmaker Kevin Stirling, that recalls the tense, terror-filled, heart-pounding final minutes of Apollo 11's lunar descent on July 20, 1969, has been named an Official Selection at the 52nd WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

Audiences will recall the epic flight of Apollo 11 both for its captivating, enduring and spectacular accomplishments, as well as for the tense final minutes of Apollo 11's descent when computer alarms were sounding in the lunar module, fuel was running low and the mission was in danger, and very nearly aborted.

Jul. 18, 2019 / PRZen / WOODS HOLE, Mass. -- GO FOR LANDING" a thrilling, new, behind-the-scenes Apollo 11 documentary from filmmaker Kevin Stirling, that recalls the tense, terror-filled, heart-pounding final minutes of Apollo 11's lunar descent has been named an Official Selection in the prestigious 2019 Woods Hole Film Festival.


"Congratulations Kevin Stirling on your documentary, "GO FOR LANDING"  being named an Official Selection in the 2019 Woods Hole Film Festival," said John Garmache and Hannah Garfield on behalf of the WHFF Filmmaker Relations team.


Filmgoers around the world will recall the epic flight both for its enduring accomplishments, as well as for the tense final minutes of The Eagles's descent when computer alarms were sounding, fuel was running low and the mission was nearly aborted.


"I am honored that "GO FOR LANDING" has been named an Official Selection in the 2019 Woods Hole Film Festival," said Stirling.The film will be screened on Sunday July 28 at 2:00 pm in the Lillie Auditorium.


Woods Hole Film Festival is now in its 28th year and was recently named One of the Top 50 Film Festivals worth the entry fee in 2019 in MovieMaker magazine.


GO FOR LANDING was also recently selected for multiple screenings at Denver's Wings Over The Rockies Air and Space Museum, as part of its week- long 50th anniversary *Apollo*Palooza festivities honoring Apollo 11.

"GO FOR LANDING" won the 2019 Platinum NASA REMI Award at the Worldfest-Houston Film Festival and was most recently nominated for Best Historical Documentary in the 2019 Georgia Documentary Film Festival. 


Stirling's space-related films also include the award-winning documentary, "APOLLO 8: A CHRISTMAS MOON."

Stirling is also involved with other Film/TV projects in production including "SKYLINES" a new TV Pilot about architecture that won the 2019 Silver REMI Award at the Worldfest-Houston Film Festival.


"SKYLINES" is an episodic television series that examines modern and historical architecture up close and behind-the-scenes. Viewers will experience architecture and hear from local architects & architectural historians about the famous and not-so-famous buildings, structures, and designs in U.S. across & around the world.

                    Filmmaker Kevin Stirling Wins Film and TV Awards at 2019 Worldfest Film Festival

HOUSTON - April 16, 2019 -  "GO FOR LANDING" a riveting new Apollo 11 documentary from filmmaker Kevin Stirling, starring NASA's Gene Kranz, Glynn Lunney, Steve Bales and Dick Koos, that reveals the decisive role of NASA's pre-mission simulations and takes viewers inside Mission Control to relive the fear-filled, frantic final minutes of Apollo 11's lunar descent on July 20, 1969, has won the top documentary Platinum NASA REMI Award at the 52nd WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.


"Congratulations Kevin Stirling on winning the 2019  Platinum NASA REMI Award for 'GO FOR LANDING'," said J. Hunter Todd, Chairman, and WorldFest-Houston Founding Director. Stirling also won a second award, the 2019 Silver Remi Award for "SKYLINES" a new TV Pilot that he is producing about architecture. "SKYLINES" is a new TV pilot that looks at architecture of all kinds, and features interviews with local architects and architectural historians.
